Amal Al Raisi Represents Oman in Prestigious Kazan Forum

(Kazan, Russia) – Popular Omani Fashion Designer, Amal Al Raisi, attended the “Russia - Islamic World: Kazan Forum” where she was invited to speak on Islamic Fashion. The forum is one of the major events between Russia and participating Muslim countries. Prominent representatives from diverse nations participated in the economic forum that took place on the 16th of May. As the only fashion designer invited from the country, Amal had the unique opportunity to represent Oman.
For 15 years, the forum has been the main federal platform for economic cooperation between the Russian subjects and the countries of the Islamic world. This year, the forum was attended by several dignitaries and officials including the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
The forum featured a “Female Perspective” track where Amal Al Raisi amongst other successful female entrepreneurs and politicians discussed women’s growing role in politics, women’s success stories as well as Islamic fashion trends.
At the forum, Amal Al Raisi participated in a panel discussion with other female pioneers in the field of arts and culture on trends and strategies that could be adapted from the modern fashion industry for muslims in this session. Amal Al Raisi expanded on the topic and expressed her views on how important it is to ensure authenticity in the ‘Modest’ in modest-wear as the market for it continues to grow. She summarized the discussion with how she feels brands are moving in the direction of authenticity and not using modesty as a token statement of inclusion like in the past.
Amal Al Raisi’s brand has been part of the prestigious Modestwear Fashion Week in London in the past where the fashion mogul had the opportunity to represent modest-wear and give it her own spin.
The Russia - Islamic World: Kazan international economic forum is expected to have special representatives from China, India, Iran, UAE, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and some other countries participating.
