Putting Together the SS25 Collection- ‘A Postcard From Muscat’
Creating a new collection is a journey that begins with inspiration and transforms into a labor of love and countless hours of work. "A Postcard from Muscat," my latest collection, is no exception. This season, I wanted to capture the essence of Muscat—the beauty, heritage, and modern spirit of Oman’s capital—by translating my experiences and memories into designs that feel timeless yet contemporary.
It starts with a vision. For this collection, I drew inspiration from Muscat’s vibrant landscapes and cultural nuances, imagining pieces that would feel at home amidst the city's stunning architecture and coastal backdrop. With that vision, my team and I spend hours sketching, revisiting, and refining each look, ensuring every design reflects Muscat’s charm and elegance.
Once the concept is established, we dive into sourcing materials. I carefully select fabrics with luxurious textures that bring each piece to life. Our artisans work closely with us, stitching details and adding embellishments that mirror Muscat’s subtle glamour and rich heritage. Watching each piece transform through their skillful hands is incredibly inspiring.
The final stage—bringing the collection to life in a showcase—requires as much attention as the design process itself. The fashion show is crafted strategically to tell the story of "A Postcard from Muscat," weaving the collection into a narrative that audiences can connect with. Seeing the models step out in these designs, with Muscat as our muse, has been the most rewarding part of the journey.
Creating a collection is a labor of love, a blend of creativity, precision, and dedication. "A Postcard from Muscat" is my love letter to the city, one I am excited to share with you through the language of fashion.
Much Love,
Amal Al Raisi
